Doctors, Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioner clinics to help with the health needs of young people

Health care services

Vibe provides free, confidential primary health services for Hutt Valley youth aged 10-24 years old. Our health services provide complementary care, meaning young people can be registered with a local medical practice, and also access our services here at Vibe.

We offer three types of clinics - Doctors, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses and we run these clinics across our two sites - Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt and within secondary schools in the Lower Hutt area.

What can a young person see us for?

You choose!

We can help with

We can see young people for most of their health needs. For longer term health concerns, we encourage them to access their family doctor or local medical practice (if possible), especially if they have previously seen them about something before.

If a young person is unsure about what we can do, they can give a give us a call or make an appointment and we are happy to help.

Some common things young people see our Doctors and Nurses for are:

  • Coughs, colds, sore throats

  • Skin issues such as acne, eczema, skin infections, rash

  • Asthma

  • Injuries due to sports /or other

  • Mental health: sadness, anxiousness, stress, worry, bullying

  • Sexual health: embarrassing questions, condoms and contraception, STI testing and treatment.

We only cater to young people aged 10 - 24 years old and those who fall outside that age band can find further information about clinics accepting new patients here.

Sexual health services

We offer health support and advice for sexual health. We provide support with the following sexual health issues:

  • Routine STI health check, testing, treatment, contact treatment and results

  • Pregnancy tests and advice

  • Contraception advice and information

  • Emergency Contraceptive pill (ECP/Morning After Pill)

  • Condoms

  • Answer any questions a young person might have.

If a patient doesn’t need treatment, we advise them and if they do, we organise for an appointment for them to come back another time for treatment.
