Vibe (Hutt Valley Youth Health Trust) is a registered charity. Donations to In Your Corner support our free, confidential health and social services for young people aged 10–24 across Te Awakairangi. Donations of $5 or more are tax deductible, and a receipt will be issued for tax purposes.

Every young person deserves someone they can turn to. For thousands of young people across the Hutt Valley, that someone is Vibe.

We provide free, accessible support for young people facing mental health challenges, family pressures, health concerns, addiction, and isolation. We help them access the right support at the right time, before challenges become crises.

With your help, we can ensure more young people feel connected, supported, and hopeful about their future. Because no young person should have to navigate life's challenges alone.

“Because every young person deserves someone in their corner”

Our Ambassadors

Dr Lara Andrews

We are really excited to have Lara in our corner.

Lara Andrews is a Lower Hutt-raised softball captain, academic, and mentor whose journey has taken her from a scholarship in the United States to the international stage. She captains the NZ White Sox with over 100 international caps, and was the first New Zealand woman to play professional softball in the US. Lara now holds a PhD and lectures in Physical Activity and Wellbeing at Te Herenga Waka — Victoria University of Wellington, where she works to open the same pathways that changed her own life for the next generation. Through her sport and her academic work, Lara is passionate about showing young people that one person choosing not to give up on them can change everything.

Aidan Walbækken -Block Vandal

We are really excited to have Aidan in our corner.

With elaborate artworks throughout the region, Aidan is best known for turning the Wainuiomata Hill retaining wall into a vibrant public gallery of LEGO-inspired characters, local heroes, and community stories.

Beyond his artistic practice, he has dedicated time to teaching and mentoring, working with at-risk youth, prisoners, and primary school students to foster creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Through both his art and community work, Aidan is passionate about creating connection, inspiring pride, and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
