WHAT IS Y.T.S?
Youth Transition Services (YTS) is a service in Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt that is available to all 15-19 years olds who are no longer at school or are planning to leave school.
YTS encourages the Hutt’s young people to develop aspirations for their future and to find out the necessary steps to get there. YTS supports young people who need assistance during this very important phase in their lives.
YTS empowers young people with the networks to help them achieve their chosen pathway. YTS is delivered in the Hutt Valley by VIBE (youth health centre)

WHAT DOES Y.T.S DO?
·Supports young people between 15-19 years of age who are no longer at school or planning to leave school, who are experiencing difficulties with the transition to work, education or training.
·Provides a range of customised support and guidance services that help facilitate young people to re-engage and set out on a pathway to a sustainable career.
·Builds better local level strategic planning between government agencies,
employers,schools, private training establishments, local authorities and
community groups.
Young people can refer themselves to YTS or can be referred by schools, organisations, family/whanau or friends.
YTS works closely with all Hutt Valley secondary schools and private training providers to help develop strong working relationships for the advancement of our young people.
