      Alex

      Youth Health Nurse

I have been nursing for seventeen years in many different areas. I have been at Vibe since 2010. I work in school based health clinics throughout the Hutt Valley and at the Epuni Care and Protection residence. It is a privilege to work with the young people of the Hutt Valley. They are a great inspiration to me and they keep me young – or at least they try to!

I find young people a constant source of inspiration with their ideas and energy. At VIBE I deliver clinics at the Lower Hutt site, Taita College and St Bernards Colleges. In addition to medicine, I enjoy skiing, yoga and keeping fit.

I have a background of being part of Women’s Refuge and bring experiences of listening to stories that represent the effects of abuse through to acts of
courage, determination, hope and preference. I am here to listen and support any young person that may benefit from this process at this particular stage of their life.

So to cure ‘me’ I love spending time with my wife, kids and friends plus an elite group of men who have been nicknamed as Mr Plank, Mr Cocoa Beware, Mr Peril Gates, and Mr Chewbacca - playing pool inside my man cave
