Vibe offers a range of youth development programmes to suite the diverse needs of young people. These programmes are based on positive youth development principles and are delivered in a fun and youth friendly manner. These programmes give young people the oppourtunity to meet other like minded people while gaining access to all the services that VIbe offers.

Antenatal Classes

Antenatal classes are for any expecting parents under 24 years. These classes are facilitated by BirthEd see below for more information

“Our series of courses are designed to meet the needs of first time parents who want to be informed about the normal birth process and how they can best support the birth of their baby, establish successful breastfeeding and be prepared to become new parents”.

Chill n Chat

Chill n Chat offers parents under the age of 24 a relaxed and fun environment where they can come and hang out with other young parents while their children play and do activities. Vibe also provides a yummy lunch.

Peer Support Training ‘Peer Soup’

Vibes Peer Support training has been running successfully for over 10 years. Although the content and delivery has been through many changes the aim has always stayed the same.

“To have a community of young people who are positive and can support their peers”

Peer Support training is made up of fun and interactive workshops that will equip you with the skills to best support yourself and your friends. Vibe’s Peer Support training is also a great basic level training for those who are interested in the youth work profession.

The Work Shop

The workshop is open to anyone who would like support with career planning. At the workshop we can help you make a CV, learn useful tips for job seeking, fill out application forms, apply for birth certificates and much more so come down and see us on any of the following days

1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 3pm-530pm Lower Hutt Vibe

2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month 3pm-530pm Upper Hutt Vibe.

Youth Advisory Group

The Youth Advisory Group meets monthly on a Thursday to ensure youth voice is represented in the services Vibe offers to young people. Projects and work include supporting with Vibe events, programmes, service design, social media and coordinating volunteer projects. It’s a great chance to have fun, meet like-minded people and have your voice heard, all while learning new skills and being supported in developing into a confident youth leader.

We are currently looking for applicants who are passionate about supporting their communities and willing to be youth representatives of the Hutt Valley region.
