Importance of Youth Voices
“At VIBE everything we do, we do for youth”. Essential ideals as to why it is a necessity to have a youth Voice:
-
VIBE is a Youth Organisation, and believes in the Youth Development Principals such as Youth participation
-
VIBE is owned by the public, therefore the public should have a say in how we govern, operate and deliver
-
“Youth issues are like tides, it is essential for VIBE to be current”
-
Youth should be aware of any changes / amendments that VIBE initiates
-
To network and connect with young people in the Hutt Valley; and when necessary young people, outside of the Hutt Valley.
-
Provide advice and guidance to external organisations on youth issues as appropriate
-
It will provide an opportunity for staff members to identify issues in the youth community
Youth Voice Guideline Procedure
