Our ServicesHealth ServicesThe Health Service includes clinics in Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt (Monday - Thursday). We make a few appointments per clinic, but most of the clinic works on a “first in first seen” basis. This sometimes means a bit of a wait-but also means you can drop in when you need to. The Health Service team is made up of 4 Doctors and 7 Nurses. The Doctors and Nurses work along side Support Service Staff, Families, and other agencies for the best outcomes for you.Social SupportThe Support Services Team provides a client-centred, strengths-based service that supports young people through a creative, youth-appropriate approach to enhance their well-being. The Support Services Team work closely with the Peer Support Workers to provide comprehensive individual, and group, social and therapeutic support. This is delivered in many ways which include; youth development programmes, health promotion and session-based education services.Youth Transition ServiceYouth Transition Services works with young people, helping them to identify appropriate work or training opportunities and to put them in touch with employers and training providers. We also work with businesses, education providers, government agencies, local government and community groups to coordinate the various services available to young people.Young people and youth participation are the central focus of all our services and are the core reasons for everything we do. Vibe is accessed by a wide range of youth from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures; our team is made up with young people who reflect this. Peer Support WorkersOur team are there to hang out with you when you drop into the clinics, they run projects and workshops, provide information, advice and health promotion, and are often spotted out in the wider community. Our team work at reception so when you call Vibe up we will be the ones that answer the phone and when you come into our centers we will be the ones that book you in and we help you fill out your registration.We also do clinical duties like stocking the shelves and making sure that the clinics are clean and tidy. Peer MentorPeer Mentors do all the same duties as peer support workers but their main focus is to support young people who have found a placement either in study or work and to make sure they have access to Vibe services if they do need anymore support over those first few months.Peer Development OfficerFatiMy role is to work closely with the peers in realising their personal capacities to grow and develop, with the potential of them doing the same for our Young People that work through the door. Also initiating programmes & projects in developing or sustaining the changes in Young People. Fulfil contractual requirements & outcomes, programmes / projects and health promotion. Youth Transition MentorsThese Mentors help young people between 15-19 years old transition into work, course or training. We work with you one on one to help you plan your future. Sometimes you know what you want to do and need a bit of help, others might have no idea about their future and need some help planning. We work with you to help you set goals and achieve them. Some specific examples of ways we help are; CV support, job seeking techniques, confidence building, interview preparation. The best way to know if you can use our help is to give us a call or pop in to talk to a member of the YTS team.YD Team LeaderKerryI love my job; it’s busy and challenging supporting the Youth Development team in their roles. When you work with people who are passionate about what they do anything can happen! Managing the Youth Transition Service contract is my main responsibility. My background is in Career Development and Vibe gives us all the opportunity to grow and develop. During my six years I have participated in lots of group work, school support, and service promotion. |
